El Molino del Alto Ebro
(The High Ebro Mill) is a solitary 16th century building which has survived
to our days thanks to its oak and carved stone construction.
It has been renovated respecting
the original structure as far as possible but also installing all the latest
comforts which modern technology offers. Today it is more alive than ever
offering the traveller lodgings as it did centuries ago.
|
Make use of our exclusive
restaurant and terrace.
In the Molino del Alto Ebro
you will be able to choose from a long and varied menu based on local products;
our own baking and a well-chosen wine cellar : all of this in our large
recently reconditioned dining–room to afford the maximum comfort for our
guest.
|
|
|
The guest has grounds of
50,000 square metres on the banks of the Ebro at his disposal where he
can enjoy the swimming pool, fishing areas, Turkish baths and, of course,
our 9 hole country-style golf course (free for apartment and restaurant
users; no handicap certificate needed - it will be closed by reforms during
this year), kayaks and bicycles, riding lessons….
And in addition to this there
are the exuberant natural surroundings which will give our culture and
countryside loving guests many reasons to return.
|
El Molino del Alto Ebro
invites the traveller to make the most of his stay in exclusive surroundings
offering him modern and comfortable amenities.
So that you can fully rest
why not try a pleasant lunch or dinner in our restaurant ( the clients
of the hotel have a 12 % discount) which has a menu principally made up
of local products from Campoó. And if you fancy it, you can also
wake up to a complete continental breakfast.
|
|

Area Attractions
The Molino del Alto Ebro
gives its guests the chance to enjoy one of the most unspoilt and unknown
valleys of Cantabria where the incomparable natural surroundings seem to
have stopped in time..
You are given the opportunity
to explore historic routes which make this valley a unique tourist attraction
as it is here where the greatest density of Romanic and Rupestrian art
can be found anywhere in the Iberian Peninsula.
|
- Romanic churches
abound in the area (Colegiata de San Martín de Elines).
- Important examples of hermit
dwellings and Rupestrian churches throughout the Valley.
In Mount Hijedo you will
find an impressive forest of beeches and oaks which is the largest wooded
area of its type in Northern Spain and the second largest in Spain. Why
not walk along the beautiful paths near the river Ebro – A pathway of 50
kms is being restored – or lose yourself in the secluded Páramo
de la Lora, explore the route of the abandoned villages, enjoy the route
of the Ebro Canyons, admire the birds of prey flying over or become bewitched
looking at the stars from the Cantabria astronomic observatory...
And of course a great variety
of adventure sports is also on offer such as climbing rafting, balloon
rides, hydrospeed etc…
This valley converts any
activity such as walking or cycling in its dales and woods, into a new
experience for the five senses and still more if you are lucky enough to
see some examples of the local wildlife.
And after a day dedicated
to mind and body what could be better than a deserved rest for your spirit
enjoying our swimming pool and Turkish bath in the gardens, cooking a barbecue
under the starry summer-night skies, or having a drink in our pretty lounge
with its glass floor beneath which you can see the water flowing. |
