La Vega de San Mateo offers
different protected natural areas and places to be visited, such as "Camaretas",
"Hoya de Gamonal", "Los Pozos de Las Nieves", the route of "La Mina" (a
gully), with reminiscences of ancient vegetation and old watermill. In
the urban part of the town, the farm market (where local farmers sell their
products) is opened on Saturdays and Sundays. Other points are : the Church,
the "Gofiomill" ("gofio" is a typical canarian flour made from tosted corn
grains) and the etnographic museum "Cho Limones", where one can see old
objects such as utensils, tools and implements used in country areas.
Among
the most important festivities we can find:
In May :
The celebration of la Virgen
de Fátima, in which local people decorate the street pavements with
flowers.
In August :
The Farmer's Festivity taking
place on the first Sunday of August.
In September :
San Mateo Celebration (Patron
of the town). This festivity lasts the whole month, the most important
days being September 20th (religious tributes are offered to the Saint)
and September 21st.
In November :
Memorial Day (November 1st),
is when people set chestnut toasters on the streets of the town.

The Real Club Golf of Gran
Canaria is situated just 20 minutes of the hotel and the new Golf Course
“El Cortijo” about 35 minutes. We have cleaning service for clubs, shoes
& bags, and bookings of Green fees & Tee times in the Golf
